About Us

We achieve consistently successful outcomes with young people who have experienced physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect, CCE, CSE, previous placement breakdowns, drug and/or alcohol misuse, as well as involvement in criminal and/or antisocial behaviour or gang activities. We value diversity, resilience, passion and ambition and demand our staff are committed to providing the highest levels of support for children experiencing crises, providing them with the best possible experiences while they’re with us, and the greatest opportunities to thrive when they leave the safety of our care. Our staff have the satisfaction of knowing they're making a real difference to a young person’s life, every time they come into work, building genuinely rewarding careers, the likes of which other employers simply can’t match. Every employee is responsible for safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities and for challenging any behaviour or practice that discriminates against any young person or colleague. They are subject to stringent pre-employment checks, thorough referencing, and the maintenance of a satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance throughout their time with us and must all hold a full valid manual driving licence.

Arnfield School
Arnfield School

Arnfield Independent School supports the education of our looked-after children. Our curriculum is innovative and varied because the children we educate have complex individual needs. We use a variety of teaching strategies including one-to-one classroom teaching, ASDAN and outdoor education, the latter of which forms a core part of the care, behavioural support and practical skills development we offer. It contributes crucial life lessons, promotes physical and emotional wellbeing and adds an element of fun to learning. We tailor lessons to help our pupils overcome their disadvantages, build confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes, enabling them to take greater control of their lives as they transition into further education, training or work.

What Staff Say

  • Competitive Pay & Pension

Whatever the role, we adhere to and often significantly exceed the minimum rates dictated by regulators or offered by our peers. Through regular benchmarking, we ensure hourly rates, annual salaries, allowances and bonuses are set fairly. All employees are offered the appropriate pension for their role, whether that's our standard or enhanced company pension, or one paid into a specific industry scheme such as that operated for teachers.

  • Loyalty & Referral Bonuses

In recognition of staff loyalty, we pay bonuses based on roles and longevity of service, from £50 of vouchers to £500 cash and extra days' holiday. There's also a handy pre-Christmas gift to help staff with their shopping. If a staff member refers a potential employee to us, they join us and pass their probation, we express our gratitude by paying a referral fee of £500. And there's no limit on how many people an individual can refer!!

  • Training & Holidays

For every employee, we provide thorough, bespoke induction training, role-specific training and ongoing professional development via online and face-to-face sessions, on a one-to-one or group basis, in-house and through external partners. We support staff to gain qualifications such as NVQ's, apprenticeships, professional diplomas and even degrees where there is a mutual benefit. Depending on the role, we offer staff a minimum of 28-35 days' holiday with the potential to increase the amount of paid leave they are entitled to as they progress their careers with us.

  • Health & Wellbeing

We provide a comprehensive, confidential 24/7 helpline, as well as online courses, videos, and face-to-face counselling services, that provide practical support and guidance for staff and their families. Personal or professional problems affecting health and wellbeing, such as mental and physical health challenges like stress or menopause, coping with bereavements, legal and financial worries, and even disputes with neighbours are covered. Employees also get access to the national Bluelight scheme giving them access to thousands of discounts and we negotiate deals on behalf of our staff with local retailers.
